Split into three phases, the $100 million project developed in partnership with Chicago’s The Habitat Co. will deliver high-quality, affordable housing and commercial space for community-based businesses to Bronzeville.
43Green leverages Bronzeville’s historic nature and cultural community to provide high-quality living and community spaces to those who live in and feel connected to the area. It will be designed like other transit-oriented developments on Chicago’s northside, where architectural efficiencies are leveraged to deliver high-quality spaces with consistent affordability.
Phase I, is a mixed-use building featuring 99 apartment units and over 6,500 square feet of retail space. It is designed to help revitalize and grow the community’s once vibrant retail corridor and create an engaging community for residents. Phase 1 is the first equitable transit-oriented development (ETOD) on Chicago’s South Side, and is currently underway with Bowa Construction and McHugh Construction.
Phase II will provide 80 innovative new living spaces and be designed to appeal to young professionals, many of whom commute downtown or other locations around the region. The streamlined, modern design of the apartment units will allow for rents to remain affordable to tax-credit qualified renters and middle-income residents like teachers, tradespeople, public employees and other early career professionals.
Headquartered in the Bronzeville neighborhood, P3 Markets identified this project as a pivotal opportunity to bring more to the community. 43Green is the first project in Chicago’s South Side with housing and retail combined to provide affordable housing and economic opportunity and growth to neighborhood communities of low to moderate income.
P3 Markets partnered with The Habitat Co., and the city of Chicago for the mixed-use development that will provide high-quality affordable housing, improve residents’ quality of life, drive a desire to be part of the neighborhood, and create an active retail environment designed to stimulate both social and economic avenues.
